Welcome to Korea International Club invited Maria Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega,  the Philippine Ambassador and listened to her fabulous lecture on Philippine females' status, roles, and their women policy.  She mentioned that Philippine women started working  for their empowerment in 1898, but only recently has it been recognized . Currently there are on-going plans like 'Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development', and 'Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment '. They are both focusing on enhancing gender equality  and show the government's roadmap on women's policy. Thanks to those efforts, the Philippine ranked 19th out of 146 countries in terms of gender equality. Quite impressive. It makes me think the index Korea holds. A lot lower I guess. She also went over the education system as well as economics, politics, and Social and Health Services in her country and answered some of the questions the participants asked.

This special lecture was held on September 2nd in Seoul Club as a Cultural Exchange program. Around 35 members actively participated in the discussion after the lecture and shared their insights with one another.
