Sunwoonsa Temple was established around a thousand years ago during Baikjae Dynasty. Located in Jeollabook-do Province, it took about 3 hours by bus. Passing by the humongous zelkova walkway and beautiful maple trees, you'll get to the entrance of the temple. Once you get there, right around the main sanctuary was the cluster of camellia, which is designated as natural monument # 184. We're lucky to have a commentator to help us understand the history of the temple and to give us some of the background knowledge of all these beautiful monuments. The temple is also very popular due to the red flowers called 'magic lily', which were in full blossom about a month before we get there. What a pity. Instead, we were greeted by the colorful falling leaves and ever green Song-Ack tree. On the way there, we saw  some places raining and worried because we're not properly prepared for it. Once we got there, though, indigo blue sky welcomed us.

On the way back to the parking lot, the streets were full of vendors selling roasted ginkgo nuts and chestnuts. They smelled sweet and spicy.  What lovely time we had there. On the bus back home, we sang some songs and took a short nap recollecting the  peaceful moments back in and around the temple. October 29 from 8am to 9:30 pm would be remembered as  unforgettable historic tour.
