Cultural and historical tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace: Remembering The King Gojong and Empress Myeongseoung
On a beautiful, sunny April day, about twenty members of WKIC got together to visit Gyeongbokgung Palace. It was the the main
royal palace of the Joseon dynasty, located in northern Seoul. Built in 1395, it served as a home to several kings of the Joseon
dynasty, as well as the government buildings of the dynasty.
The year 2017 was the 120th anniversary of the establishment of Korean Empire, declared by the late Emperor Gojong. This
study tour was the first of some tours planned to commemorate "The King Gojong and Empress Myeongseoung"
