2nd Anniversary and Special Lecture

On November 27th from 10:30 to 2 o'clock, Welcome to Korea International Club had its 2nd Anniversary celebration  and special lecture on the role of United Nations and the situation of Korea. The President of WKIC, Jungsook Kim made an opening remark thanking all the support and love that members have showed to make  contribution which made the 2nd anniversary possible. She also expressed her gratitude towards people who went to Indonesia with enthusiasm to give her hand during the election for ICW's presidency.  It was followed by the congratulatory speech of Ms. Yeonsook Lee,the former 2nd  State Minister for Political affairs. She put an importance on using women's sensitivity and delicacy to take the lead making the difference for the betterment of life and delivered the wish WKIC doing the very job for the empowerment of women. Congresswoman Soonrae Kim also made a powerful congratulatory speech and so did the President of Korean National Council of Women Keumsook Choe. 

The 2nd part of the day was given to Prof. Joon Oh, the post UN ambassador for Korea. He made a presentation on how, when and why United Nation got established and  what 3 pillars -Peace, Development and Human right are  and why they are working as important criteria. 

After the lecture, Prof. Kyungjoon Park made a congratulatory performance with two beautiful arias,  'Bessamemucho' and 'O Sole Mio'. People applauded and he sang 'One November Day' as an encore. 

After the birthday cake cutting, toast was given by several renowned ladies, Madame Hsiao-hsia Chang,  Ms. Baeyong Lee, Ms. Doyoon Byun, and Ms. Yangduck Park.  

What lovely time and place it was~. Members got together and enjoyed the scrumptious food out of the abundant buffet table.
